“It was cold. Dead cold.

A young boy stood alone on a pier’s very edge. Salty sprinkles of seawater splashed up onto his tender red cheeks, making his face sting and feel sore. He wrapped his arms around his emaciated husk of a body; shivering as the icy coldness chilled beneath his skin. Time seemed to linger cruelly, as it so often does.
He looked down and saw the devastating waves pounding against the crumbling wooden pillars; smashing and crashing in all their fury. He knew the waves’ power would crush his brittle body and his corpse would float away: little by little drifting further and further into the shadows of the ocean. But there was something comforting about that; like all his sadness would drown along with him. All he had to do was take one more step forward and it would all end… only one.

High up in the black sky the moon looked down at the boy. Its smile was saddened tonight; its glow less bright like an unpolished oval jewel. The boy looked up above the shimmering ocean and looked back at the moon. He wondered if it ever feels lonely, up there all alone without a friend.
Glancing up at the heavens the boy somehow felt comforted by the enchanting tapestry; a beautiful contrast of sparkling silvers attached to a black sky. It was darkness tantalized with mystery, and shared the emptiness he felt in his heart.
But soon it wouldn’t matter. Soon, he would be free.

His life had been a sad story; a senseless existence decorated by fabricated hopes and dreams. But now he was ready. Yes, he was ready to step forward and take control. He was ready to jump into the obscurity and succumb to the darkness that waits…"
